EatingWell's Editorial Guidelines Published on May 25, 2025 Credit: Hoka. EatingWell design. Everyone needs the right pair of running or walking shoes. This can look different from person to person—some of us need high-cushioned soles, while others want something super firm and structured to perform their best. That’s exactly why brands like Hoka have a wide range of options. I have tested dozens of sneakers, and one of the more unique pairs I’ve tried is the Hoka Arahi 7. These shoes have a noticeable built-in support system, ensuring my feet stay in the proper position while I’m walking, running or training. When we tested them for a longer period, we came to a very similar conclusion: These shoes are fantastic for folks looking for a strategic balance between support and cushion. If that sounds like you, you’re in luck! We found them hiding in Hoka and Zappos’ sale section for less. I have never seen them on sale in this many colors, so now’s your chance to grab a pair that suits your style best. Hoka Arahi 7 Everyday Running Shoe Hoka $145 $116 at Zappos $145 $116 at Hoka.com We love these running shoes for many reasons. They are best for those who struggle with overpronation or knee pain, though as someone who has more of a neutral gait, these shoes have worked for me, too. Their design aids with gait correction and pain prevention in the firmer-than-average midsole, allowing for a controlled step. The bottom of the sole has a firmer j-shaped frame that can help prevent your ankle from turning inward. Its balanced cushion level will soften the impact of hitting the pavement on runs or daily walks. Additionally, the streamlined style means the sole won’t get in the way, leading to a more balanced step. Since it’s the seventh model in the Arahi line, there are some updates that stood out to us: The padded tongue adds comfort and the upper is improved to ensure a better fit and keep your midfoot locked down. Like I said, I don’t typically need a supportive shoe, but I love these sneakers! In fact, I still reach for them even after a year of owning them. They absorb enough impact and I appreciate that I can wear them for many different forms of exercise, working well for walking and running on the road or treadmill. I wear them most often for strength training at the gym these days because they keep my feet firmly in place with the high-traction bottom and overall structure. (This is something I can’t do with my plush pairs.) I must note that they feel noticeably different from Hoka’s more cushioned shoes, like the Clifton and Skyflow, but that’s not a bad thing at all. Their stiffness is their highlight! If you need even more convincing, these shoes are podiatrist-approved with the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) seal of acceptance for their ability to promote optimal foot health over time. You can shop the sneaker in nine colors today, including pink and grey, neutral cream, an all-black color and more. They’re available in sizes 5 to 12. For folks who want a little more wiggle room, you can grab select colors in the wide width on sale. This is a spectacular deal you do not want to miss today. Shop the coveted Arahi 7 on sale while you still can. If we know anything about Hoka, we know the brand's shoes sell out fast.
