Thanksgiving will be here before you know it, so it’s time to start planning your shopping for the big meal. But with grocery prices top of mind, it may be hard to plan exactly where to go to shop for the most budget-friendly menu.

We compared Thanksgiving dinner deals at five different nationwide grocery stores to find the cheapest option for you. Here are the list of all the notable deals we could find for the holidays, and which ones to consider depending on your gathering.

Which Grocery Store Has the Best Thanksgiving Deals?

Looking at the chains with curated meal deals, this is what a Thanksgiving dinner costs at Aldi, Costco, Target, Sam’s Club and Walmart in 2024:

  • Aldi: Serves 10 for $47
  • Costco: Serves 8 for $179.99 (online only)
  • Target: Serves 4 for $20
  • Sam’s Club: Serves 10 for $100
  • Walmart: Serves 8 for $52

Per person, the best Thanksgiving dinner deal this year is at Aldi. Each guest will only cost you $4.70 with this deal. Aldi’s dinner is almost too good to be true: a Butterball turkey, dinner rolls, stuffing mix and all of the fixings to whip up staples like mashed potatoes, green beans, old-fashioned sweet potato casserole, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie.

But if you’re hosting a smaller crowd, Target’s 4-for-$20 deal comes to $5 per person, including a 10-pound frozen turkey, gravy, stuffing mix, potatoes, canned cranberry sauce and the key ingredients for a green bean casserole

It seems like the warehouse stores—Sam’s Club and Costco—are offering the priciest dinners, but it’s for a reason. These dinners include heat-and-serve dishes, making the turkey, mashed potatoes and veggie sides entirely hands-off. So they may be worth the price tag if you have limited time this season but still want a quality meal.

Whichever grocery store you choose, be sure to plan ahead by ordering your turkey and sides online for a scheduled pickup closer to Turkey Day. If you’re reading this last-minute, check with your local store for their inventory by calling prior to visiting.
