Ken Haedrich is a cookbook author and culinary educator specializing in pies. Ken baked his first ever pie for his Navy buddies in the ’70s, and two decades later he received the Julia Child Cookbook Award for his book Home for the Holidays. His other cookbooks include the bestselling Pie as well as Dinner Pies, Pie Zero to Pie Hero, The Harvest Baker and more. His work has appeared in publications including Food & Wine, Bon Appétit, Real Simple and Better Homes & Gardens. Ken gives live cooking demonstrations and talks around the country, notably at the Smithsonian, and has appeared on Good Morning America. He and his wife, Bev, host the annual Lowcountry Pie Getaway, an intensive weekend of group pie baking lessons for fans of Ken’s educational website The Pie Academy. Ken also created The Good Cooks Academy as a similar resource for healthy cooking after he experienced a sudden heart attack in 2016; he now eats pie less, but appreciates it more.
